Famous car nicknamed the "ladybug" is the first car produced by Volkswagen in 1938. Following Hitler asked Ferdinand Porsche engineer, famous for its racing cars at the time. Hitler wanted to democratize the automobile industry and make cars accessible to the people. The name Volkswagen means also "people's car" in German. The ladybug was then funded by the state to reduce production costs.
