U.S. researchers tested the effect of music on patients with chronic pain for years. Patients suffering from diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, disk problems and osteoarthritis in an average of six and a half years.
The researchers found that those who listened to music for an hour each day for a week had a pain level less than 21% who have not listened to music. In addition, they concluded that music also reduces depression associated with chronic pain up to 25%.
