In 1924, the Rudolf Dassler brothers Adolf and melt together the Schufabrik Gebrueder Dassler, a company of sneakers. After the Second World War and after numerous problems related to women the two brothers, the Dassler liquidate the company in 1948 and divided into two equal parts. Adolf, nicknamed Adi named his company ADIDAS (ADI Dassler), while Rudolf chose the name PUMA, easy to pronounce in all languages. The headquarters of two multinational competitors is still in the same town of Herzogenaurach!
